Our Theory of Change

What makes CommunityAid Zambia (CAZ) unique is the practice known as: End Poverty Together (EPT) through Research, Development & Innovation. Communities and Families receiving any form of support from CAZ agree to be engaged in ending poverty together through community participation.

1) Agriculture & Livestock Production, Environment & Natural Resource Management & Climate Change

CommunityAid Zambia (CAZ) works with rural communities to improve agricultural productivity, promote climate-smart farming, and support sustainable livestock management. Through our interventions, we help smallholder farmers adapt to climate change, conserve natural resources, and increase food security. We believe that when communities manage their environment wisely, they build resilience and create sustainable livelihoods that end hunger and poverty.

2) Education & Human Rights

At CAZ, we believe education is a powerful tool for empowerment and social justice. We support community-driven initiatives that promote access to quality education for children, youth, and women while advocating for the protection of human rights. Our programs raise awareness about gender equality, child protection, and civic participation ensuring that every person, regardless of background, enjoys dignity, inclusion, and opportunity.

CommunityAid Zambia's Key and Strategic Priorities

CAZ has identified the following five (5) key & strategic priority areas to be addressed in its development interventions:

3) Health, Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Good health and access to clean water are essential for community development. CAZ works to improve health outcomes in rural areas through WASH programs that promote safe water, sanitation, and hygiene practices. We partner with communities to build sustainable systems that prevent disease, enhance well-being, and empower families particularly women and children to live healthier lives in cleaner environments.

4) Resource Mobilization and Partnership Strengthening

CAZ recognizes that lasting change requires strong collaboration and collective action. We build partnerships with local communities, government institutions, and development partners to mobilize resources that strengthen our programs and expand impact. By fostering transparency, accountability, and trust, we ensure that every partnership contributes to sustainable rural development and shared prosperity.

5) Research, Development & Innovation (RD&I).

Research and innovation lie at the heart of CAZ’s mission. We use evidence-based approaches to identify community needs and develop creative, practical solutions that drive transformation. Through our “End Poverty Together (EPT)” model, we engage communities in problem-solving, encouraging innovation that enhances livelihoods, strengthens resilience, and supports long-term rural progress.
